Developed in collaboration with Steven Holl Architects, this project proposes a new building typology – “Parachute Hybrids.” It proposes to combine roughly cut towers with lower horizontal extensions forming large public garden spaces to indicate the history of the site as a paratrooper air field.
Many of the characteristic circular openings pierce the entire width of the building, extending the spatial experience of the interior. Special attention was given to optimizing public spaces and energy efficiency.
