The residential complex “Beregovoi” is located on the embankment of Moscow river near Filevskiy Park. The theme of water, waves, fluidity and a dialog between two elements – the city and nature – formed the basis of the design concept. More than a hundred different typology variants suitable for this site were developed at the early stages of conception. Thus, the optimal variant, combining all the features of the project location and the customer’s task, was ensured.
This variant became a “wave” – separate sections grouped into a dynamic composition with one dominant tower ending the rhythmic row. The dialog of the city and nature became the basis in the landscape – architectural volumes organize two courtyards with different themes. The space facing the embankment is designed on the basis of smooth, “natural” curves, while the courtyard facing the city is built with the simple geometry of straight lines. The “wave” also appears on the facades of the complex — a combination of solid glazing and aluminum panels combined in a complex pattern, creates a sense of flickering ripples on the water surface.
The different heights of the sections provide, not only a striking silhouette, but also the possibility of setting up series of public and private terraces on the rooftops. Minimal bearing structures on the facades and inside of the building allow for a variety of planning solutions inside the apartments. All this promotes residents to experience the same dynamism, mobility, fluidity and adaptability inherent in water, whose image was at the heart of the entire architectural concept.
