MARTIAL ARTS CENTER
Dynamism and balance are the two axes defining the form of this single combat sports center in Luzhniki. The final selected version clearly embodies these characteristics, remains light, open and evokes a feeling of monumentality.
The concept arose from an artistic interpretation of a technique common in martial arts: the backward throw. Two opposing shapes meet and create a tension in a single point. Being equal in mass, they stand in a kind of flexed balance. It’s a confrontation between two forces, forms and materials.
